Q: What life lessons do you pay forward to those around you?
A: I learned early on that doing the little things for others has a huge impact. When I say the little things I just mean to go out of your way to compliment someone, shoot someone a text saying good luck or that you're thinking about them, or by showing up and supporting them. I learned that I loved it when others did the little things for me so I made it my goal to try and do them for the people that are in my life as well. I think that it's amazing the impact something so simple as saying that you're thinking about someone as on another.
Q: How is your ability to teach displayed in your tours and how does it relate back to your why for being a tour guide?
A: One of my core passions is meeting other individuals. I love to get to know as many people as possible because I think it's so cool that every individual you meet is so different from the rest. My teaching skills, I believe, rely on my openness to others. I try and be as personable and friendly to others as possible on my tours. I do this in hopes of the perspective students and families to become comfortable with me as a tour guide and to also make them feel comfortable to ask questions. My passion to meet new people was really the main reason why I decided to apply to become a tour guide.
Q: Based on the interaction with the honors advisors, how can you put your further plans for education into action?
Q: What would you say to someone who said getting a college education isn't worth it (Especially someone from a diverse background)
A: I would ask them what they already know about college's and see if there are any misconceptions that I would be able to clear up. I think that people who have a negative view on most things aren't as educated on the topic as they could be. I would especially push those from a diverse background to research all of the different cultural and diversity services at Universities have to offer.
